How to choose an alarm system

Like most things in life you get what you pay for but that does not mean you can not get excellent value for your money. The cheaper the system the lower the security, features and home automation they provide but then again the amount of security you require in a flatlet is quite different from that of a family house.

Below is a table that gives a short comparison between the different alarm categories. I like to compare alarm systems to transport just to put some association there. The rule of thumb is that you should consider the risks and features of different types of alarms and to what extend that is important in your circumstances. The more advance and expensive the system the more value you get per rand you spend.
